Hello,
This post is for those of you that have been into kitesurfing in WA for a long time.
It is with great sadness that I let you know that Neil Taylor passed away today. Neil was a bit of a legend when it came to repairs/advice in the early days from his shop in Wembley and later from is workshop in Beaconsfield.
Thank you those that stayed in touch with Neil - it meant a lot to him.
Cheers
Terry
Sorry to hear about Neil. Friendly guy, did a great job with repairs. In my case, many over the years.
Very sorry to hear this, had a lot of great chats with Neil in my visits to Perth and over the phone.
Unfortunately I'm not one of the ones who managed to keep in touch over the years since, but still sad to hear the kiting community has lost a great guy.
Hope he is flying a kite or playing with a motorbike somewhere up there. RIP.
Just reading this news today & am saddened to hear this terrible news.
Neil got me into kiting back in 2001 when he sold me a Peter Lynn 2 line power kite & a couple of PL Venom's in 2005 when I "graduated" to kite surfing. He repaired my kites more times than I can remember and a visit to his shop & then in later years, to his Beaconsfield workshop, was always an opportunity to talk with him - usually for longer than expected.
Neil was a great source of kiting news & info & whilst I lost touch with him after his stroke & he moved to Rockingham, he will always be remembered as a class act; a magician when it came to repairs and a guy never shy of a chat.
Sincere condolences to Terry & everyone else who knew him..
Juddy
Sad news and fond memories. We shared good times and good kite sessions in the early 2000's when Wannanup was just a sand track through the scrub. Condolences to Terry and friends who were close to him.
Mary and Graham.
