Hi there,

I'm looking to kite north of Perth this coming week end. I can drive up to 2 hours north. Where would the best spot be ? Not too crowded, flat water or small waves ?

Thanks !

Basically any beach with a carpark? There are literally hundreds of places that fit your description in a 2 hour radius and this weekend should be good.

Hangover Bay is my pick of the beaches. Everyone knows about it but it's just that little bit of effort so there are rarely other people around.

Why hangover bay? How is that better than going bit further to Cervantes?

Because you have to get drunk the night before you go there?

Sounds better to me!

Problem with hangover bay is the carpark has restricted visibility from the beach which presents security problems in such an isolated area !!

take the car on the beach . It's hard enough for a soft roader to get to the point . Turn left after getting on the beach .

Hangover bay is awesome

I have a crappy little hire car so not too sure about driving it onto the sand ! No worries. I'll just leave it empty !

It's a beautiful little bay, like many but. When I was working in Perth I'd stop there for a kite on Friday arvo on my way back to Gero.
But I never saw anything more than a tiny wave,
In my experience over a couple of years probably a great tt spot but not so good for waves?

yer correct , more a tt spot . i think more a secluded spot you can pretty much have to yourself and just enjoy, no matter what your on

It's a terrible spot . . . Secluded, flat wit a wave if required with plenty of space. . . . I only kite there as a last resort. . . . Best go somewhere else . .
. ??
