Hi all,
Looking at moving to Amberton and was wondering if there are any kiters up that way that can offer any adviCe on areas to ( or not to) kite
Currently kite at Pinnas, which is idea during the week coming home from work but would probably prefer to stay 'local' at weekend. Or even head higher up to Yanchep / Lancelin
thanks in advance
Coming from pinneroo you'll find it choppy as f**k however Quinns was fairly busy today and there were 7 or 8 guys out. Surely thats better than 50 out at Pinneroo?
Shorehaven is pretty good but i don't know if i'd kite there solo. Great carpark security, 1 local bloke who i only saw a few times, you can rig up, pack away and even launch on the grass, it's got good showers and it'll be wife friendly with a new cafe opening before summer. The bay itself does have this weird sharky / haunted wreck vibe though. The other downside is the beach has loads of sharp bits of limestone so i'd be reluctant to self launch.
There are no secret spots, it's just that you wouldn't kite up here unless you live here and Pinneroo is 20+ minutes away. The Jindalee-Shorehaven stretch of beach is great but only accesible by 4wd now.
You see loads of signage for eden beach, amberton, trinity and alkimos beach and it looks as though they will all have similiar grass areas to shorehaven in the near future. Eden Beach can't be that far from starting and that looks like the pick of the bunch beach wise.
Did you kite there this weekend by any chance? The carpark is finished at Eden Beach but they still have it blocked off as they are doing the landscaping.
In the meantime you can drive on the beach (from Jindalee or in front of Masters) if you have a 4wd but it was really soft so i've been a bit reluctant without another 4wd. That or just move the fence
No it was not me, too busy prepping the house for our home open
Would much preferred yo be out kiting
Don't have a 4wd but might have a drive and walk up that way this weekend.
went to the beach at Amberton and it did not look too bad for launching off
I've just moved to Quinns and was also trying to decide which spots would be good to kite.
There doesn't seem to be any beaches that you can't kite on around here but for some reason most seem to go for Quinns over Eden Beach, Shorehaven etc
If you do live nearby and plan on kiting (or evening swimming) at Eden Beach don't leave your lines or gear unattended. Most 4wd's stick to the dunes with the beach now open but bogans with quads and 4wd's don't give a **** about anyone else and will run over your lines..
If only they had a good beach front like Shore Haven. Good showers, carpark security and lawn is great
Thinking about heading out for my first kite of the season this Sunday and was wondering if anyone else would be heading to Quinns, Amberton Or Eden Beach? - not tried there before.
I've kited Amberton a few times until the Alkimos curse struck and I received 7 stitches on my ankle
I'm still a noob but imo it's probs the most user friendly spot in the Alkimos-Yanchep stretch. I mainly kite the spot car park beachies but it's super lumpy as soon as its 20kn+. Surfing wise the spot can handle a southerly pretty well so it's pretty much a no go zone if there's guys out there surfing.
Hi all,
I'm very new too the kitesurfing at the moment, not long got my trainer kite.
with regards to Amberton beach,my wife and i have just bought a block up there and the beach access is open..
I'm hoping to get out there soon as I've gained confidence in my lessons..
