Starting a new job near Point Walter but on the west side of the river. Does anyone know if you can launch from that side?
I have never kited in the area (either side).
isn't that side off the river just one big rocky cliff?
ive never seen anyone kiting from that side (although many people kite across to there from the point walter side)

the other side looks dodgy as... maybe get a SUP or kayak and paddle across ..

if you have to ask this question then it is probably best if you give up kiting this instance . Where exactly can you launch from there ?
Thanks for the info guys, doesn't sound promising.
Dusta not sure I understand your point but thanks for the photo anyway, I didn't think about using google maps street view.
can you self launch and land ? I can tell you the water gets deep there pretty quickly . That position is too far south for any wind direction to launch and land . Even on an easterly there is nowhere west of point walter to launch/land from .
In your IKO course you should have learnt about wind shadows and turbulence .Did you do the course or wing it ?

Will we all need driver type licenses to hit the water soon?? Sorry officer I didn't see that wind shadow there it just came out of nowhere. Well that will be $200 in fines and another $700 in kite schooling.

very very deep there and too many moorings with too many masts to get caught up in
Might be quicker to head u to pelican point on the south side of Matilda bay that is open to any south wind
