My speed spec mk 2 is ready for testing. kart is ballasted with 27 kgs weight lifting discs, to reduce kart lifting in the gusts, and a tail to reduce airflow turbulence behind the seat. Bens 1.6m speed sail on top, I'm good to go. Coat of paint and the name, seabreeze stickers, see what it can do, 110 kph plus....

all you need now is a rudder to help with turning?

Great looking set up!

I have seen a yacht built around a kayak. Was really slick looking. With the addition of a spray skirt, it would cut out
all the turbulence associated with the cockpit and the "boat tail" would do a pretty good job of reassembling the flow at the rear. With a long enough yak the front wheel could be enclosed and the rear axles covered with airfoil shaped fairings like used on
ultralights. Properly built(with difficulity Im sure) it would have a full under pan also, Would definitely require a purpose built frame though.

Good luck on your run!

The speed spec mk 2 is no more. It just doesn't work.

Back to the drawing board. A shape like a ships bulbous bow creates low pressure behind it, the air flow increases as it passes along.
