Kangaroo Island must be one of the few places in Australia where one can combine one's love of sailing with wine tasting. I've found 3 wineries which are located right on the coast, namely Bay of Shoals Wines (near Kingscote), Sunset Winery (Eastern Cove, 6 nautical miles from American River) and Chapman River Wines (Antechamber Bay). From the first two cellar doors you can admire your boat in the distance while tasting that Shiraz or Sauv Blanc

PS Does anyone know of other coastal wineries with anchorages within walking distance (not just on KI)?
Maybe I need to work this vineyard/sailing angle with the misses sounds like a winner.

Between the 3 yachts we bought about 8 cases so they were quite happy. Most were consumed on the yacht rather than the dinghy.
We also managed to score a lift back to the bay of shoals boat ramp from the Queenscliff Hotel in Kingscote. Bit more rustic than the ozone but great food. Again there were 3 families which may have encouraged the drive home

I'm glad a few cases made it back to the yacht. Sounds like even fewer made it back to home port
