My water maker high pressure pump is leaking oil. Oil seals from Echotec are hellishly expensive plus US$100 for freight.
I'm going to Enzed tomorrow to try and source replacements.
Does anyone have experience with this water maker and parts source?
Thanks
Hi Sv,
No experience with your water marker, but similar experience replacing oil seals on a hydraulic ram for the keel.
I had removed it and stripped it down to the point I just had the ram head and seals in my hand. So off I went to visit all the local mobs.
Three weeks later I'd exhausted the entire Aus supply chain, and not one replacement seal even came close. I did get lots of offers to re-machine my ram to accomodate 'normal' sized seals, but that seemed like a solution I would only do if you can't get a seal for love nor money.
I ended up swallowing my pride and paying the expensive price from the OEM French mob for the proper seals ($150 from France, compared to $20 locally).
One point of interest: the freight from France ended up being free. The replacement pack of seals was mailed to me in a padded bag not much bigger than a normal envelope. It only took a bit over 2 weeks to arrive.
I hope you have more success than I! Oil seals can be damnably difficult to match if they're not from widespread commodity style products.
Cheers!
