I've been told it's a Swedish design...which may or may not be correct

The rudder looks a bit different to the Crealock.

To be clear I don't know, but it is reminiscent of some boats built by Cheoy Lee shipyard, which I think built some designed by Arne Tord Sunden, the chap responsible for the Nordic folkboat. He did their Pacific Clipper design and their Offshore plus some others I think. Does it have teak decks?

To be clear I don't know, but it is reminiscent of some boats built by Cheoy Lee shipyard, which I think built some designed by Arne Tord Sunden, the chap responsible for the Nordic folkboat. He did their Pacific Clipper design and their Offshore plus some others I think. Does it have teak decks?

Yes, she does have teak decks.

Cheoy Lee has built many many different boats. The combination of fibreglass construction and fin keel with a canoe stern suggests to me she was built in the 60s or 70s. The profile of the hull is reminiscent of the Cheoy Lee Nantucket 38, except those had a full skeg, were built as ketches and had a transom. Designer was an American, I think.

All this complicated by the fact Cheoy Lee would also build variations on a design (eg type of rig). Also you could take a design to them and have a one-off built, I think, though presume that was less common.

There were other yards in that region also producing sailing vessels of similar designs with teak decks, such as Tayana in Taiwan.

Not much help, I'm afraid.

Turned out to be an Overseas 35 designed by Swede, Rolf Eliasson.

The designer of that quality would not have got the displacement wrong. 5800kg is the 1/2 load displacement. It is less length and beam and draft than a Sydney 38, and originally designed as a "light-medium" displacement cruiser. Only on board inspection and out of water survey would confirm the structural scantlings. The designer could be asked.
Assume the shed comment is for possible Tassie use.............

IMHO it looks great.

She's just been listed on Yachthub by Scarborough Marina.

Been sitting on the hardstand for 15+ years after the owner had some kind of mishap (capsized, knocked down, don't know the specifics) but couldn't part with her either.

There are cracks along each side of the keel which immediately rang alarm bells for me.

Aaahhhh....the search for a boat with a shed for Tassie goes on.
What about a Swanson 42 ketch??
