Thumbs Up

SS "Norfolk" arrived at Fremantle on 21 st June 1906 jury rigged with sails. It seems she lost her propeller, She shed her propeller in the Indian Ocean on a ballast voyage from Durban to Albany. Capt. F. Corner rigged 15 hatch covers and fitted a bowsprit to carry a jib. With these he sailed over 1000 miles to Fremantle.
In Fremantle she was ballasted by the head until the shaft was clear and a new propeller brought from Sydney was fitted.
