As much as I like this view I'm sick of fixing my Garmin GWS 10 wind transducer.

What the most bird tolerant wind transducer and what's the best way of rerouting the transducer cable back down the mast?
Currently have a Raymarine boat, thinking of going wired Raymarine wind transducer but seeking a Shag and occasionally Pelican resistant transducer.

? Worth looking at - www.birdcontrolaustralia.com.au - as have solar ultrasonic,which could be worth a try ?
Have their rotating spiders on deck, that deter nesting seagulls enough,to try elsewhere !
Pelicans are a challenge !!
Wonder how they keep them off Streetlights ?

I've had a Raymarine wireless wind transmitter T120 going to a Raymarine T10 display for the past 10 years working with no problems at all.

I get cockatoos and all sorts of birdlife but they seem to leave the wind transmitter alone!!

Being wireless there is no need to run a cable down the mast. A bit dearer but well worth it IMO!!

Lazzz,
Interesting, I was talking to Garmin Australia tech line today and they said the solar wireless get the most complaints due to bird poo on the solar panels. They suggested stick with a wired system or else you have to climb the mast regularly for cleaning.

Are the cables generally run down a conduit inside the mast? If so if I mouse the new cable to the old then I would be able to pull through the new one?

That's what I did when installing a new radar, I also ran a new mousing draw string down at the same time for future use.

Tinder? Post some pics of your boat, should do the trick.

Can't help with the pelicans.
