It was great for two like-minded blokes to catch up and have a yarn about all things boats, and more!!

"Oh,yeah! Well I've got ratlines"
"Ratlines, Are you kidding? I've get a swim platform."
"Who needs a swim platform. I've got a wind genny?
"A bloody wind genny, eh. Those things are so damned noisy. I've got a hard, I mean real hard tender!"
"Yeah. Tell me , Have ya got a yellow box with a red star on it? I betcha haven't"
"Heh, look the suns setting."
Bloody beautiful isn't it"
"Too right, mate."

Covid didn't affect neither of us in the way your imagination is taking you Gazza , but I can assure you the topics well worth a good discussion over several cold beverages.
Nice one lads, obviously the channel is navigable to keel vessels at present, how much do you draw SA ?

I draw 1.9m and the most shallow spot was 2.8 m from waterline @ a 1.6m tide. I believe a lot is the tidal flow/currents and the lack of tidal information in the particular area is fault to most previous groundings. The bridge and the dog leg needs to be taken with caution and with plenty of cross track error!

Cheering, I'm planning a cruise south after new year, last time I transited the channel was 2017, I passed the dredge so close I could have shook the operators hand. Top of the tide with 100mm under the keel and a 1.2 draft.
