While a lot of you are dreaming about heading to the Whitsundays for winter at least Donk and I are likely to have a different experience tomorrow morning.
Forecast for snow to 150 metres for Hobart in the morning so that usually means down in the far south it will be snow on the deck time.
Just depends how it settles as it is has been so wet.
Mind you bottom of the Channel is spectacular cruising as all the southern alps are covered in snow.
You all should try it sometime.

Been a bad weather period in the Whitsundays lately.

Hopefully better next year

I will take your word for it Lydia. Post some photos.

It's been a bit nippy in Suva recently. The coconut oil solidified in the yacht shop this morning.

Bit gray so far today for good pics.
Cape Bruny AWS at midday was 50 knots, temp 4.5 'C with apparently temp of -9.5'C
Bit of light snow has fallen but with everything so wet it does not settle.

Nice work Donk, I only have the cheap mobile phone so the hills are a bit far away.

Not your average drive to go sailing this morning.
But not that cold when out on the water.

Really ....... looks colder than a mother-in-laws kiss .........!
I was more than a bit miffed today when i had to wear gloves to work on the ocean ..
Must be part of the select group that expects the hula girls , coconut bikinis and banana daiquiris
when i am out on the ocean ......
better ocean person than me Gungadin !!

Hi Lydia

If you don't mind me asking where was that picture taken (It looks a bit like Vince's Saddle)

It looks a bit icy as well

Did you sail at Cygnet today and was there much breeze because it looked to be pretty glassy here for most of the afternoon

Don
Sailed up town in the DSS Winter Series.
Actually one of the more dangerous days sailing and that was getting to the boat.
We would have been one of the first cars through this morning and the only wheel marks ahead up lead to the cars crashed against the armourguard.
Icy was an understatement, . I had not seen some much ice cover and the road still been open
Certainly very marginal and we had reasonable 4WD.

I was talking to the on call guy from work this afternoon and asked him if we had been called by the Police to run the grader over Vince's Saddle to break the ice up and he said we hadn't but people had told him it was pretty bad so i am not sure what happened there

There were Police on both sides of the Huonville bridge this morning when we went out to Glen Huon about 9am and we were told they were slowing people down because there was a fair bit of ice on the bridge

What boat did you sail on at the DSS

Regards Don
