A couple of weeks ago someone posted a pic of a bimini cover that folded back on to a raised solar panel over the pushpit on a yacht ,If you are still there champ, do you mind reposting that pic and one with the cover extended I am interested in doing something similar on my boat.I just have to sort out how to place the struts to make it work.Catch you later.
hgo2 I cannot find it here but I am pretty sure he comes from camden. thanks. jdol do you still have the mooring in f.b.
Here it is... When the Bimini is extended I can stand under it and still see forward. Also set up so the boom will pass over, VERY IMPORTANT otherwise its embarrassing to say the least!
The Stainless Shop
170 Taren Point Road
02 9525 1777
They have parking on site, shop is on east side of Taren Pt Rd, Ok from north
but from south you have to go past do a righty then a U turn then back into Taren
and they are a couple shops along.
They are just over the Captain Cook bridge and a major set of lights going south.
Sailmaker's Loft almost opposite [west side].
On some things they are a little bit more expensive than Whitworths but those extra cents
means that you have the complete range available, not just the odd thing.
You'll understand when you go in!
Don't forget to use mono pop rivets [from the Stainless Shop] in place of the small lug screws.
The lug screws don't work and will eventually fall out with disastrous results.
The tube fittings that are at the bottom of uprights need to have a small hole drilled [vertically] into the tube fitting
to drain any water that gets in there.
In regards to the Bimini its a standard Whitworth one.
Being made of Aluminium tube I used the black plastic fittings from Whitworths.
Key to size is getting the width right so it fits to the pushpit.
