well folks a tale of sorrow and regret...bought a "brand new" raw water pump for my ysm8 yanmar at about $750. What i actually got was a secondhand body with the wrong impeller ,fitted incorrectly ,with damage to the impeller after running for only 3 minutes. The gasket under six screw plate was missing entirely. The supplier has been asked for an explanation. Could have had disastrous outcomes. TBA.

Double checked the water pump and it is not the one I recently installed. Some creep has broken into my yacht at newhaven y.s marina and stolen my brand new water pump. A job for the police now. I take this as super serious interfering with a mans boat...could have had disastrous consequences.

Wow that is such bad luck! Do you still have your original one? They have to be in really bad shape before they're beyond reconditioning.

Cheers, Graeme

So someone stole the water pump that you installed, but reinstalled a crappy one?

Presumably to hide the evidence of stealing the good one? Put a Trek Transponder on your boat. Two of my mooring neigbours had their solar panels nicked!!

Newhaven have cameras, get onto the club asap to see if the footage is not overwritten. How many days since you had the new one installed?
