Tuttle head fitting?:-)
Does anyone know where I can buy (a cheap Tuttle head in Sydney etc.) the part that attaches the mast to the board so it fits into a single tuttle box, my board only has the single box?:-)
Pending which brand as what Container mentioned but most of the major brands who have an Aluminium mast they have an adapter, some fit other brands like Naish & Gong . Here is a few pics of brands that do. Axis , NP , Naish , Gong , Slingshot & NSP .

Try you local windsurf shop. They do this stuff all the time. To be clear though, are you looking for an adaptor for a plate mount to fit in to a tuttle box? Not as easy as you think if that's it. What foil do you have?Sam.

Yes Sam I need the adaptor plate mount to fit onto my foil mast, and I think you are my local shop, also I do not know the brand as it was a trade and they do not know the brand either all I know is that it is all carbon :-(

Need pics at least then as sadly there is no generic mount for that. Tuttle to plate is easy but plate to Tuttle is harder.

That's a Chinese foil so good luck with that . In reality by the time you buy or convert your mast to a Tuttle head , it will be just easier and cheaper to fit tracks to your board .

Ok really Piros, but it looks and feels really nice, what do you think about the quality of the actual foil (compared to other foils). Also I have tuttle box fitted already and I really do not want to add more weight to the set up as the existing mounting plate is quite heavy (and it is carbon:-)
Foil looks very low aspect , it's one of the early Chinese foils average at best . You are not going to get an adapter for that foil so it's add boxes which will be lighter than a solid Ali Tuttle head , or sell the foil and get a second hand Gofoil with a Tuttle head heaps of bargains out there for the older model Gofoil .

Ok thanks Prios but it do you think it will be ok / good for me to try / use for the first time (I am going to use your plastic tape wrap around the sup trick on an old 7.8 95L Naish that has been damaged and repaired) out in the surf / beach break one day that will be suitable at that time?:-)
Haha yeah that will work , so will the foil
Yeah ok - and how much do you think it is worth , what is your questimate?:-)
but it do you think it will be ok / good for me to try / use for the first time
There is no way to tell. Some of the Chinese no-name foils were made without any test, just copying a wing from a brand and a stab from another brand, so they actually didn't work at all (the angle of attack were wrong). Some others worked.

Ok Colas I see so what angle do you think the front wing should be?, it looks pretty good to me (but I do not know anything about foil / foiling etc.) it is tilted upwards a bit so when on a board it is almost straight or pointing a bit upwards? I am hoping to get it set up almost perfectly for me for my first foil / try etc.?:-)

I dont know, foil designs must be done as a whole. I wont have the expertise to predict its behavior without trying it.
I would recommend to have somebody that know how to foil just try your foil first, it could avoid you hours of frustration. The only people I know with an alibaba foil never managed to fly, and quit foiling.
Or, if you do not manage to make progress, try to borrow/try another foil first before calling it quits.

Ok thanks Colas but I do not know anyone so I think I will just have to try my "alibaba" foil on my own and report back my findings (probably in a few weeks or months depending on the conditions etc. but the guy (sponsored) that I got it from said it was one of his first foils and that it was dam pretty good:-)

Ah, that's good to know.
Yeah it works I actually had one but all the connection points came loose so I epoxied it all together but eventually it fell off from the board . Still down there somewhere .

You did not use enough duct tape ?:-)
Johndesu. If you have a shop nearby with Go Foil, Naish or Slingshot accessories in stock. Then I would go there & see if the tuttle attachment fits yours.
My Chinese knock off is exactly the same dimensions as the Slingshot.
I know the Naish & Slingshots had M6 screws in the early days. That's why I would start there. Also maybe take measurements of yours then try & find measurements on the net.
Oh, or just go to Alibaba or whatever Chinese site & look for your foil & then ask them to supply the tuttle attachment. I know that most give you that option.
The foil looks more to me like a Naish knock off but the mast more like the Slingshot with only the two bolt attachment.

Many Thanks for your advice Seajuice and everyone else also:-)
I have a SS tuttle head unused you can have for $120
Sounds pretty good but I need to know that it will fit / that it is the right one for my mast etc., so please email me some photos (and a close up/s) with the exact product number details etc. to johndesu69@gmail.com and I can have a look at the same one in a shop:-)
Hey John with all due respect mate if the shop has one that fits buy it off them , don't go in and try and then buy it cheaper somewhere else. Because if everyone did that there would be no shop to go back to next time. Support you local especially in these hard times.

Yes I should and will do that (if it is not too expensive:-)
