Would appreciate any recommendations for a decent Wing/prone combo board for 95K rider. Would like to drop down in size on my wing board and would like a prone board, but can only afford one. thanks in advance!! ????????

What kind of volume size are you thinking? Are you talking a semi sinker kind of board so about 50-60L kind of thing?
Will make for quite a big prone board so always I guess going to be a compromise.

What size are you riding now?

I've been using a 7' x 65 litre Naish prone board for a year. It is a bit of an aircraft carrier but does the job suprisingly well. I wing, prone and dock start it, and not far off prone down winding. You have to be able to hold onto board and duck dive at least as well as a mal, so keep the volume as low as possible. It's just like mal vs short board for take off. I like the look of Sultan mid length prone board, 48 litre Omen Flux and new low volume Armstrong mid length board. Interested to know what Paul J has to offer. I love the simplicity but still open to the idea of two boards. Time will tell. I'm 80kg.

funny enough i have been using Antman's 40L FG wing board for proning. It's only 18 inch wide and i've been loving it. Stuff all rocker, and even at 4'4 it gets onto waves so easily. I'm gonna try and get the 4'6 48L wing board eventually for both then have a mid length / even the smaller DW board for light to medium winds.

To the above id still want to spread prone and wing over two boards. Otherwise you won't be able to help compromising on both disciplines. Still got mates who run multiple boards for specificity and that's the other end of the spectrum i can't justify.

I have proned my Omen Flux 60L when the wind doesn't cooperate. It works for prone. Works great on the wing. Buddy who is 195-200lbs has winged it just fine.

Would it be possible to learn prone foiling on a Armstrong 58L FG wing board for a 80kg 68yo winger/supfoiler that never proned ?
Or better start without a foil on a longboard?
Or start on a Armstrong 116L 7'9 x 20 1/4" downwind board?
My 90L 5'2 wingboard pumps so much better than my 6'6x 29' 120 liter sup foil...

I have a real problem trying to prone paddle my dw sup into waves and pop up to the correct position. So I don't recommend that one. The wing board is fine to prone unless it's so wide you have trouble paddling it. Try it and see how you like it. Normally, wing boards prone just fine.

I would try both, I think a lot depends on your conditions and your strengths/weaknesses. If you are in very soft rolling waves, the DW board will probably be better, but if you are catching whitewater the shorter board will probably be better. I have used my older 5'x23" wing board prone and it sucked, but my current 5'10" x 20" is really fun and the most forgiving prone that I have tried
