Hi,

I'm new to stand up, having used an inflatable 10' cheapie for the past few months.

I'm really enjoying it, and looking to upgrade to something that is faster and that will be easier to paddle over longer distances (up to 10km).

My paddling is recreational for fun fitness and conditioning - nothing serious.

To be used in Port Phillip Bay off Black Rock, VIC in various conditions (generally won't go out if winds are much over 15 knots). So, can be anything from flat to choppy.

My weight is 65kg - 70kg

I have my eye on a 2021 Fanatic Falcon 14 x 26.75, 310L. Would this be a suitable board for me? Is it pretty stable DW and in choppy conditions?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,
Jonty

A good choice, nice to paddle and good fun for downwinders without being tippy

Thanks, that's good to know.

There is also a 2022 One Storm - 14' x 24.5" available for about the same price. Would this also be a suitable board for a beginner in bay chop and cross-chop conditions?

You might be more comfortable on the wider fanatic, better stability.

There sis also an Infinity Downtown for sale down your way.

The dugouts tend to be higher in side profile and catch more wind from the side than non dugouts.
