Yeahaaa Tardz'!! Ha! Yeah man , should be a bit of fun when those wet season swells start pushing through.
The cafe racer - HA!!! Love it. You know it's true brus!!!

Nah man - she's just a stock 9'11. Had a good yarn with Dylan - after a bit of back and forth, he didn't reckon changing the numbers for top end conditions eh. Only change is Genration deck pad and ledge handle.

Yeah, I'm super toey to get her in the water. Been hanging to give a Speed a run for ages eh. They get a pretty solid wrap. Just need some decent waves now.

Yeah man , I've been keen on the Speeed for a while eh. Rule of thumb is for a bit of extra length and float for waves up here, so this is the quasi-longboard speeed. Tides are good this weekend , so will get amongst it and report back!

Well if you now have too many boards - you can send the "green Search" down to me - free up garage space! I will take bloody good care of it at Arrawarra Headland. Steve

Haha!! No worries at all Stevo! Mate, happy to lend you the Search in exchange for a two-week arranged stay each year at The Arrawarra Surf Shack on a 99-year lease in perpetuity - whaddayareckon?

*UPDATE*

So, I had the Speeed out yesterday and today in glassy waist high peelers. It's hands down the fastest, loosest board I've ever ridden.

It's stable and sits so good in the water. The GenRation deck pad is super thin and incredibly grippy. It's a great feel underfoot on the deck.
And did I mention fast. This thing motors in waist high waves. I know it's going to crank up with some size.
It surfs like a shorter board than 9'11. Carves are smooth and flowing, not forced. There's no stink bug moves. The board works so well.

I can say that from this point on my SUP journey, I now have no need for any of my other boards and I've begun putting them up for sale. Seriously.
The Speeed really is that good. Easy. Hands down - the best board I've ever ridden.

Thanks bro!!
Yeah, it's so good mate - I was genuinely a bit lost for words yesterday after the first sesh. Kinda stood in the car park afterwards, babbling incoherently and dropping random moments of laughter like a loon.

You know when you have a good session and ya just frothy as - well that was me yesterday arvo.
I got home, cranked surf vids all night (Pump & Filthy Habits - old skool power surfing faaaarking hell!).
smashed a few hundred Mountain Goats and kinda stood around half-smashed, eye balls rolling around like a couple of hard-boiled eggs, staring at the new sled. Got her down off the racks, turn her over, hold her, stand back and gawk - check her lines, was so pumped eh!
But yr right man, I probably should just slow the f**k down before I start selling the quiver. I've been known to make decisions in the heat of the moment (live in the moment I say!), but it doesn't always end up going the way you imagined. So you're right man - I'll just cool the heals.

But geez, it's such a good stick eh.
Up the Speeed!!!!

Yep, you're spot on - she's wonderful mate - I think I'm in love

(How good's that clip!)

Wife - "You have a mistress?

Cleese (deadpan) - "Of course, everyone has one. it's only for sex, it's nothing."

Ah god, still laughing. great work.
Cheers cob!

Finding the board that just syncs with you, does blur everything else.
Enjoy your weapon Northman!

Your enthusiasm is music to my ears MangoDango. I have a 8.2 and 8.5 Speed which I love.
I keep reading reports on other boards and different shapes and wonder what I'm missing out on.

Hey Creeky! No worries at all man!
I was thinking, if anyone is gonna get just how good this board is, my old mate the Creekoid will!
Yep, you're a hundred per cent on the money - everything about this one just syncs eh.
I was saying to all the crew here, the dims feel like it really is properly suited to the Top End of Oz conditions - which go from low power fun in the Dry Season, to high power, high energy in the cyclone season. Full on extremes from one side of the scale to the other.

I have taken Tardy's feedback on and will calm the farm before I go selling the rest of my boards. But geez, I can see they're gonna be dry for a while!

Thank you for your kind words old mate. I'm genuinely humbled and rapt you get a chuckle out of my ranting and raving (and incoherent babbling) - which is bloody lucky, coz there's gonna be plenty more to come yet Creeky!!! Especially when we start compiling a few chapters for the new book!

Take care old mate - will see you again soon in the green room!

Hey Tyrannaman - yep, how good are the Speeds dude!
I fully understand where you're at too mate, as I think I now have no need for any other board - maybe just a couple of slightly shorter Speeeds!

I'm glad you're feeling the stoke too mate!! It's so classic that a board can generate such a primal response out of people eh - there's definitely a large amount of Bert's special sauce in these buggers!
Awoooooo!!!!

Likewise, I've had 3 speeds of various sizes, still own 2, 9'2" and 8'10". These two are keepers, probably for life.
My only comment would be, that their performance when it's clean fat outweighs their performance when there is a bit of chop. But are they are so, so good in clean conditions in any size or type of surf. You have purchased a friend for life.

I reckon you're right on the money there mate - definitely got a friend for life
Can fully understand why you'd hang on to them - as you mentioned, they really are that good eh. Geez, is it wrong to start planning for the next one??? I can feel a quiver of Speeeds starting to emerge!!!

Haha!!! So sick - thank you my brethren.
I was listening to what Bert was saying , and fair dinkum - everything he said is EXACTLY what's going on with these things. So easy getting into the wave and then once you're on, hang on baby, coz they got some other kind've turbo goin on. And the turns are just so silky smooth, rail to rail transition is intuitive - it's like the board and the wave actually respond to each other - the wave stands up, the board trims and takes off. The wave starts to section down the line, just work the board and it responds and accelerates.
Man - you would friggin' lose your mind on one of these where you are! I can't believe you don't have one in the quiver!?!?!
You've gotta get one bro - a black, 'off the lip' beast model ha! That would be so off chops - but like we're all saying brus, be warned, you might never go back once you've tasted the Speeed!!!!

Still reckon the Speeed is one of the most fun boards for the average SUP surfer . They make you feel great . Like butter on a wave . So smooth. My second surf SUP after the Waterborne Evoke 711 was a Speeed 88. Was like a dream compared to the Evoke . So easy to get on the wave , adaptable to lots of conditions that I surf and like butter on the wave. Have a 711 Speeed that when conditions are right is easily my favourite board. Won't get rid of these two

Hey GBoots - yep, couldn't agree more mate. Everything seems to work on these eh. It's funny you mention the buttery feeling on them - one of the first things I thought after the first couple of waves was just how smooth and flowing the board is. Nothing feels forced, and I also found that turns are easier to make - where ordinarily I'd be having to 'think' about where the board is , so as not to catch a rail, or where the nose etc.

Not to mention it's ability to generate its own speed - it's like it somehow takes the wave energy and converts it into its own thrust.

On the Speeed, I find there's less 'thinking' about the wave, and more 'feeling' the wave.
Which is that intuitive kinda thing going on - and perfect for a pedigree, first class Neanderthal caveman like myself who struggles to think cogently about almost anything.

For me , I find I have better sessions if I'm not having to get too cerebral about what's going on underfoot. If I can just leave my brain in the carpark , and connect in a more fluid/flow state with the board and wave , guaranteed I'll have better surfs.

If I'm too analytical and over-thinking, I definitely lose my mojo and things become all forced and mechanical and I just end up stink-bugging my way around the line-up and getting frustrated with myself.

Yep, they're keepers for sure. Hands down , the Speeed's incomparable to anything else I've ridden.
