Hi all,
I'm looking at getting a hipster twin, have tested out the 8'10 but in bad choppy rough conditions.
found myself falling off a lot while paddling, would eventually find the sweet/stable spot but found it challenging. Felt great on the wave.
do you think I should step up to the 9'3 33?
or persevere with the 8'10.
im an intermediate Rider 42, mainly surf in medium waves nothing too crazy!
current board is huge 9'6 36 192L, I'm 100kg 180cm
cheers
I am same height and weight as you and find my 9"3 hipster super easy in all conditions. Yes someone our size can go the 8"10 depending on your ability. My two smallest boards are the 8"4 x 31.5 hypernut at 140L and a 8"8 x32 infinity at 143L and they float me fine. They require a little more work, timing and better positioning so it depends how easy or hard you want to make it for yourself.
Thanks mate, that sounds like what I've been thinking.
The 9'3 should give me the stability and good manoeuvrability/fun
