Beautiful new 10' custom for a customer who's favorite board was on its last legs. Burt's beautiful interpretation of this board is a stunner. Makes sense as a shape if you want a longer performance board but don't want a long board. Love the clean graphic
10' x 32" x 4 1/2" 153L
Agree that's cool board and would like to have a paddle on that in my local beach
Better buy lotto tickets.
sweet .. love the black
Speaking of black, where are the shots of your 2 piece custom on a wave or two?
Looks great but what's with the huge centre fin they always seem to put in Sunova's?
Mind you at 32" wide and with a swallowtail maybe it might be justified this time.
That's really great - I'd probably buy one if it was a production board. However, black isn't a particularly clever choice if you live in a warm climate, much as it looks good.
There are so few brands making longer boards that aren't longboards, nor big beginner barges. Hypr Nalu Hawaii make some but not that many others. So it's good to know that there is the option of a Sunova custom.
That looks sweet! be good to see in a smaller size too
Scaled down to mid 7 foot region Id consider selling a kidney

Tell us more about the shape, how you spec'd your old board so that he knew what to do. Looks like less rocker for speed and faster paddling, but with highly curved outline for radical turning. Usu. see a lot of V with swallow tail? What conditions do you anticipate? Easy to paddle into waves, but can stay on the tail once on the wave?

Possibly subtle mono concave in nose to double concave middle into vee tail

The customer bought his old board in and we had a good look over it. There was nothing close in the Sumova range so we conveyed the critical dimensions to Burt and he worked his magic. It is a performance 10'er with pretty straight rails through the middle. He never missed a wave on his old board and he loved the way it turned. It's actually Navy Waiting on a report from the customer.

What a great service!!!
That's a lovely board............ could see one of those in my future!
I like my Sunovas, just wish I could get them to reply to emails?
Interesting this board straight after the Starby Element, think these longer performance shapes are such great all-rounders. I've got a 5 year old 9 x 29 118l Starboard Pro that I just love (that's a big board for me at 64kg!)
Strangely the only place I really use it is Gnaraloo, reasonably critical powerful reef break and frequently very strong offshore winds. The extra length gives me half a chance to actually get onto the wave, without being as stupid critical as you need to be with a board under 8'.
Sorry to go off topic, bloody nice looking board!
I'd also like to hear a report from the customer. Especially how he finds this board compared to the one he modelled it on.
Dylan from Sunova also contacted me immediately following my last post which I was most impressed with. Shows that Sunova do listen and care about their customers.
i "need" another 10 footer......... maybe something like this
