got a 2014 Allstar with side handles that make it impossible to be carried properly.
my DC has a handle in the middle of the board & amazingly, the balance point too.
Question is , has anyone installed plugs ( type & how ) & a new handle in the middle of an Allstar ?
Cheers Russ
Are those Liftsup handles any good? How much do the weigh? How do they hold up? I do like the idea of it being flush when paddling..I broke a toe caught in a FCS handle (surfing). On the other hand moving parts tend to break eventually.
The only downside I hear about these handles is that they are not the best when trying to get a hold of your board quickly in the water especially when there's shore dump....you can't beat a good open recessed handle for safety and grabbing quickly.

only hearsay.....not used one myself but did look into them a while back.
I have these in my Sunovas Speeed to and I like the handle. It's not as quick as the open handle sure but stil ok getting in and out the surf.
It's strong, no problems so far, easy to carry even in high winds.
Only downside so far is the way they work with winter gloves, to lift is a little harder then.
Hi Russ, I had the same board (sold it last week) and I had the same issue with the side handles. I used this SticIt product (stic-it.com/paddle-boards/race-handle-mounting-system.html) on my AllStar. The beauty of it is that you don't need to cut into the board and you can do it your self using 24-hour Araldite.
Didn't consider getting your hand/fingers torqued inside that style handle when entering/exiting shore break. Think I'll stick to the regular type...
