hello everyone I'm new to the forum I write from Italy, I was looking for a new rigid sup to replace an inflatable entry level that has been in use for a couple of years .. I often use it in wind and chop water on Lake Como , I would like to lengthen the distances and go a bit faster!! in the past I also did a bit of windsurfing, 90s !! I was therefore looking for a board with a binding for sailing and occasionally going out in windsurfing mode ... Ii have saw the JP hybrid 11.4 x 32 ,, but perhaps it is too oriented towards the surfing part and not much towards touring / cursing ... better something longer and narrower?
A thousand thanks

Hi Lorenzo,There are not many boards that ar good in both.My advice: buy a dedicated Sup and maybe later an 2th older windsurfer for those occasional days.Sup: the longer the better so get your self an composite 14ft race style board and you have way more glide to explore your beautiful lake.

I'd rather SUP on a windsurfing raceboard than windsurf with a SUP.
But that's just me and I'm not a huge fan of SUP.

Hi mate, a beautiful place to paddle and sail. Seem like a Naish Nalu GTW might be the pick for you, plenty of different sizes to get the balance between padding and sailing.

Cheers.

Steve.

Hi , thanks everybody .. I will try to find some test board ,, now I'm thinking at JP Hybrid 11,6 x 32 or Starboard wind-sup 12,6 x 30 , this one can be more touring oriented and more fast to paddle .. windsurf will be a little time of using so preference for paddling side ..

Hi Lorenzo,

Try the Exocet Windsup 11 8 it's a great board for what you want.
I used to windsurf race boards, speed, slalom and wave. I got the Windsup when young family and had local beach with offshore wind, could sail 2 to 300m to get to the wind line and its planes and gybes well and I've done 27knots.
Take the front foot straps off and smaller fin then grab your paddle and leash for sup

Hi , I've saw the Exocet and seems a nice one .. unfortunately it's quite impossible to get here in Italy .. now I've restricted to the Starboard 12x30 ASAP WS , or give up the windsurf option and going for a touring board like JP Allwater GT , or Fanatic RAY ...
