Hi, Just wanting to know if anyone has tried out the new 2025 Blue Carbon 10'3" Spice.
Also does anyone know the weight of this unit.
Keen on buying one but at the price they are asking I need some info first. $2700. Not the cheapest board.

And probably not the lightest either imo.
Around 10.3 kgs according to starboard. The "blue carbon" construction is not a full carbon wrap construction like the starboard carbon sandwich or carbon whatever from others.
Yes Seb,10.3 kg becomes well over 11 kg with there tolerances of + or - 5% ! I had a 2024 starboard longboard well over 10 % of stated weight on there website. I refused to take the board, the shop could not believe the weight as well. Warning ...weight the board before purchase.I have had conversations with overseas supper's and there starboard sups are mostly lighter, makes me wonder if Oz is getting the boards that o/S reject ,being a small market place , just a thought ?
Interesting / I did contact Sonova about building me a full carbon board to save the weight. There return email was they have found carbon does not build a lighter board but does help in the boards flex.

No arguments from me. I do not know how much the board will actually weigh in real life. I still have my old Starboard Wedge 10'2" in the "limited" construction. It's similar size to this Spice 10'3" but more litres and weighs more - I cannot look up the exact weight since I see that they've reduced the range dramatically and it looks like the Spice is the range they are pushing now, but I think it was quoted as mid 11 kgs. It's ok to carry, but you certainly know that you are carrying it.
I have my own concerns about Starboard construction. I've had 4 Starboard boards now all in different constructions. Both the Starlite and the Limited constructions developed quite a lot of brown spots under the glass within months of purchase. The blue carbon Spice has done the same, but to a lesser extent. I never bothered with warranty and I have no idea what's caused this. The only Starboard that hasn't done this is my Pro in the carbon sandwich construction. Not trying to dunk on the brand since I've enjoyed all my Starboards, but I am slowly replacing them with Infinity.

Everything is relative, but a usually full industry standard carbon sandwich construction will be lighter than anything else, since the substitute for full carbon is usually more wood. As another point of comparison between brands: My Infinity Escape Pod is 7'10" x 30" x 125 litres and my Starboard Pro is 8'2" x 29" x 118 litres. The Pro should be lighter, considering the dimensions, or at least the same. In reality, the Escape Pod is noticeably lighter.
The infinity 10 foot would be great but I emailed them as well and by the time you get the board to Oz plus paying the import tax/gst and the insurance to fly it over, the board was just over $4K.
They are full carbon and seemingly light BUT !!!! to expensive.

I thought that there was an Infinity distributor in Aus now? Somebody posted on this forum a few months ago saying they will be importing Infinity?
