Those two boards are Marcus Tardrew's personal prototypes.
he rides them ok...
I'll be after these two if they decide to make them models!!
If they double the liters, I'd love to try them!
Supsean - my thoughts exactly (& a bit more)!
look like kite boards
True that Tardos! And some inspo from the Infinity shapes too I reckon.

Yep - they look sick Creeky!
I'll be watching these ones closely. I'm a sucker for a swallow tail.
Wide and thin concept, wonder what the trade offs are. I guess the placid is kind of like that. How heavy is the rider?
Nice! Did Sunova had an "official' Fish SUP in the catalogue before? Not that i know but i may be wrong..Can Master Rick maybe shed some light on that?

The closest is the "moon" tailed Skate I believe.

He is 33 kilos and a dwarf!

The Skate XL had a fish tail, the regular Skate has the moontail.

I,m 96kg and with a 5mm wintersuit, booties etc at least 100kg and have a 8.23x30wide and 3.6thick customboard aprox 115l.Starboard Airborne nose, Hypernut tail and fast (starboard pro) rocker. The benefit of the thin rails+wide outline is that it it is stable for its size making starting easier, it grabs in pretty much any type of wave while due to its width it still keeps speed in the smaller and slower stuff. My Hypernut7.10x133l feels faster more lively on small and slow stuff but when it gets big or real hollow my hypernut loses grip and bounces out, this one keeps grip. The downside is that on such conditions the extra width in the tail demands a slightly wider less sharp feeling turn as a "pro" shape with less width in the tail or you need to downsize it to volume equal to weight kinda dimensions (and making it as wobbly as a pro shape).
So on a real small and slow stuff: no benefits, on really big and hollow just to get the start right, but a lot of conditions it is a bless. What surprises me at the Sunova's is that the widest point sits pretty far back.
ps: picture is taken 2months ago in Crozon-France where the waves are a LOT better as at my home turf in the netherlands where it is now 7C. and allmost year round no or crap windblown waves.

Hi AP
Oops, I have been on the road, so I missed this!
No.. Sunova never had a real fish SUP.
The Skate is a different design.
a friend of mine has an old SUP that was a true Fish shape and it surfed quite differently from any boards I have had and the split tail was HUGE.

Looking at the litres I was thinking one for each foot?
I have the larger version of this board that Marcus designed as a custom. Mine is 8/3 x 31 120 Lts, super thin drop rails and goes like a rocket. Best board I have ever surfed and I have had a few over the years.
it's not like anything I have ridden before and I have owned a Placid, Speed, B Line, Flow mk2 etc
Kind of a mix of all the best aspects of all my previous boards wrapped into a custom.
