A surfing mate of mine put me onto his neighbour who is a non surfer and had this old starboard he's trying to shift. I'm thinking Noah paddled it in from the ark but it's in great nick just a couple of paint chips on the rails which have some sort of epoxy paint as part of the manufacture. Stingers-hoily doily, that's old school, it's no Apia though! Still light enough to show it's water tight. The board cover is SupBali, I forgot to take a piccie.
Thought I'd tap into the breezer knowledge bank and see if anyone has any idea about it and how it surfs or it's history. Cheers
That would be the 2010 Starboard Pocket Rocket in Candy
Bit of Starboard history there, but for the life of me cannot remember how it rode, I did have one and remember it was pretty stable. This was the 3rd year of Starboard SUP's venturing into smaller sizes, so anything at that time felt more manoeuvrable compared to what we had been riding.
If its cheap and in good nick (press around the standing position for any soft spots) then go for it, will still work well enough
Cheers,
Marco
Hey thanks Marco. Checked out google and found this clip from 2010 on your patch-could even paddle down to the bears.
Love how old mate gets toes on the nose, looks like he's having a blast. Board looks the goods
