The story so far. Longboard into late teens, then moved away from coast (Wales UK surf lifeguard) to Uni. Moved again to get a job, miles away from the coast, life happens, keep competing in sports but no sea. 35yrs later, now end up living near the coast (NE UK). Visit daughter in Fremantle (Aus), takes us all out paddle boarding, get mobbed by dolphins, love it. Return to UK, wife buys me an isup for birthday. Take to local beach, bit of swell, inevitable happens 'Wow, you can surf these!' Bit like me old longboard. September last year, look for hard board, hardly any In the UK, months delivery on imports. Get a local supplier, last one, bit big, bit general but soooo much better. Fast forward few months ago discover this forum. Start reading New Sup Lizardman (hope you've been out on the Placid), then NooNoo chips in, then Alex F (end up with new board), then Colas (new fins), then link to MangoDingo and SN Wedge 10'2 - like the sound of that, maybe smaller would suit. So, on a whim (and a few IPAs) 1st click The Supco (UK), 2nd click surf sup, 3rd click model and size, 4th click in stock ordered and paid for!
Yesterday evening it arrived (pics below). My wife wants to know whose fault it is, the bad influences!
Good piece. Could try that but I think my wife has a bit of a crush on him! And he can do no wrong. I also secretly thinks she encourages me to keep going is she hopes I'll end up looking like him!
Nap Nap dude!!!!! How sick is that board my friend!!!!!
Well done man - what an absolute ripper you have got your hands on. Mate - you are gonna be grinning like a panda in a bamboo plantation from this point on. Hundred per cent guaranteed fun stick you have there cob. And geez they look good don't they?!?
Well old mate - given I'm down here in Oz you can blame me - but next time you and your better half visit the kids in West Oz, make sure you plan a trip up to Darwin and we'll arrange to go and snag a few top end peelers while you're here.
And anyway man, I've no doubt that your wife will actually be so happy with your rekindled Stoke for the ocean and exponential increase with your inner peace and happiness that she'll actually genuinely be rapt for you!!! I'm fairdinkum man - you'll be whistling around the house while you help with the vacuuming and doing the dishes - you'll be like a grom all over again!
Such a sick board Nappoooohhh!!!
(or you can blame Tardy )
Yeeeewwww!!!!
Sure looks the business - really well finished it seems. I do think your impressions did contribute though, So don't go blaming Tardy! Another thing is how light it seems, cant wait, weekend here is looking good. Oz next year I think if all is good with travel. Mrs is not so bad, she gets the ';castoffs' and she loves getting into the sea as well, sup surfing and bodyboarding too.
Don't think there's gonna be much house work done this weekend! Sure got the Stoke in spades. Mint!
Tardy, no idea who you are but if i ever meet you the first 5 pints are on me! Thanks to your review of your wedge, got myself the 8'7 version - it 'kin is stunning. This weekend I've had the best three back to back (to back) days ever, 'nuff said!
No ones to blame ,its a great sport .and you cam blame me ...your wife will understand ,mine kinda does ,she wonderers why I have 8 SUPs ,i hope she is in a good mood when number 9 turns up soon .enjoy you deserve it, love a pint or two.
