A Starboard Race that is
Unwrapped my new toy after work today, just a sneak peek for now as it was getting dark and I wanted to get it wet...
Are they venturis on a flat deck?
Yep, it does have a small raised edge at the front of the standing area which flattens out around where the venturi's are. Will get some more pics tomorrow when it's light and I get to give it a proper test run.
Are they venturis on a flat deck?
Helped unpack a 12"6 25.5 and a 14 27 today..
Venturis holes are huge! its def not a flat deck so I'm thinking they are a good idea. From where the back of the front section drops down to the standing area it seems like it has a little cavet (not sure how to describe it) but it slopes to the standing area and the back half of the standing area slopes forward to it also. Not as flat as it looks. Looking at them the standing area will be just Infront of the holes.
There is soo much going on with this board from nose entry, To the standing area to the tail and then you flip it over it seriously looks like
It has reverse rocker up the front. Not to mention the very different back end underneath..
I'm impressed starboard are been very inovative once again. Will be interesting to see how the pros perform on it compared with the all star and the sprint.. It certainly doesn't look stable like the all star but surely it's been tested and trialled to be quick
14x25" felt pretty stable when I took it for a quick flatwater paddle in the creek tonight (though I have been paddling a 14'x23.5" wide Ace for the last couple of years to compare it to)... Will be interesting to see how it feels in the ocean tomorrow.
Very interested to hear what you think Ali compared to the all star.. Ollie from
Brisbane will be racing one over the next year, I'll will be jumping on his board next week to see how it goes.
