Hi all,
Read some previous posts... any up-to-date news on this one for Bali East Coast in the July timeframe? I am thinking Nusa Dua or Sanur, for a Bali trip in July. But which one?
Happy to stay at any resort (for the young kiddies) to be honest but what is the closest surf break that I can paddle to easily? And will the wind wipe all waves out of the equation (or blow me all the way back to Oz) in July??? I dont need crazy big waves, I just want to SUP each day without fear of death in the surf (so to speak). I dont care for kiting or windsurf, so will gladly relax with the kids each day if the wind kills all the surf.
Jankie and others, please help me out here!
Plus I will probably take my own 9"5' Widepoint on the flight, any advice there too? Am I going to have problems with vehicle transport for the SUP too from the airport???
Plus what have I missed???

Unfortunately July means winds are no good for Nusa Dua/Sanur side .
Check out a hotel called Legong Keraton on the west coast you will be stoked as the waves are 50mtrs from the resort pool which means you will be back for bfast with the family everyday & can hang out with the kids between sessions whilst keeping one eye on the waves ;) .. Enjoy !! Pete
Confirm what Pete said. July last year we had 25 days of wind no stop pretty much day and night! Sanur/Nusa Dua on shore and quite crappy.
In a regular year I would say that in July you may get between 5 to 10 early mornings with no wind.
Canggu unfortunately also get the wind but not too bad and side off shore.
.
The best place would be the Bukit as the high cliffs protect from the wind but surfers not really friendly!
Balian and Medewi are also good options as even in strong easterly there the wind doesn't start normally till 10:00...
Bye Jankie
Lembongan could also be a good solution as easterly are off shore. I heard that they are opening a SUP resort in the island of Ceningan (smaller island between Lembongan and Nusa Penida) that has some sick secret spot.. Haven't been there yet so can't comment much!
