Am looking for a device that can be viewed whilst paddling to show your speed. It preferably would be mounted on the board so one's speed can be easily seen at a glance down. This would allow one to adjust paddle technique, cadence, length of stroke, etc and see the effect on your board speed. Distance travelled, etc would be a bonus feature, but not a requirement.

Have been looking at the Locosys GT-31 GPS and the Velocitek SpeedPuck.

Any ideas or feedback appreciated.

Thanks
The SpeedPuck whilst being more basic looks easier to see at a glance. How have you secured it to the deck?

I bought it direct from Velocitek mail order and ordered their industrial velcro 'kit' the stuff is 3M Dual Lock, the back of the puck comes with a big circle of this type of velcro already attached. I just put four tabs on the board to match and it sticks really well, also have a bright coloured float on a cord just in case, but the Puck does float - quality gizmo.

It's the same price locally now so don't think its worth paying the freight from the US.

I do reasonably long crossings where I can't quite see the destination and just work out the heading before I go, makes it much more relaxing!
