It's time for another road trip to Noosa from Melbourne. Night one in Twelve Mile Creek, don't stay there I had some wakko unzipping my swag at 3AM asking if I ( Jesus) his words not mine could give him a ride??? Needless to say o was out of the swag ready for anything in a flash and a few choice words to boot!
Tonight much safer at Scott's Head, small surf but I got wet at least until a man in a grey suit showed up. Tomorrow Kirra and Monday Noosa, hope the swell picks up.

Think I might have run into you yesterday at Tea Tree. I'm the guy on the blue Fanatic with a helmet on. Said you were going back inside cos it was too crowded....that will seem like a small crowd when school hols start!!

Yep got a few down where I was. Not many get past the mals though...but they do let some go through for me,

Do you guy paddle around to Tea Tree or walk?
I always walked out to Granite Bay with my shortboard because it was bigger and less people, but I wouldn't want to carry a SUP that far!

How beautiful is that walk !no fun with a sup though!.IMOa perfect set up for the point break! In the low swell less crowded conditions that is .

I walk to Tee Tree then paddle to Granite, just about to leave home and do it now. Hope it's pumping :-)

Hi Creek,

I paddle to Tea Tree and Granite but the waves were not the best and the wind was quite strong so it was very very lumpy trying to get to a granite. The swell direction was not ideal but I had fun either way, to me it's so much easier and quicker to paddle around.

I always paddle around from 1st point. While it's a great walk it gets fairly hectic with runners , people carrying mals and tourists stopping to enjoy the view. Just need to be aware of the wind- I've had a few trips back from Granite that were VERY hard work!!

That's cool that you know Noosa well Rick. Anywhere else in Oz that you have spent a bit of time?

Thanks for the replies on this!
I will start a new thread about my trip to OZ so I don't do a hostile takeover of Dave's thread

Excellent Rick - look forward to it.
Back on track: I also like Granite (and the beachies at Alex), but as everyone says, it is a fair hike in. What I do if I am up there for a couple of weeks is hide my board in the scrub. That won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I have been doing it for decades and no problem. The National Park is pretty big - so it is easy to find a spot in the bush that is 50m off the track, and In my experience it just never occurs to people to leave the beaten track.
So I stash the board after my first surf, and from then on just have to walk in; then I bring it back after the last surf.
