Hi

I have been having some fun experimenting with different the Tahitian and Hawaiian paddle stroke. Saw this old video from Dave Kalama and got inspired.

While I am sure I was butchering it to some degree I felt like I could "get" the Tahitian stroke when everything clicked. It felt really good with smooth quick rolling motion but then I would start over thinking it and lose it. I should really get some one on one tuition.

Just wondering if anyone out there uses a Tahitian or Hawaiian stroke? Is it something that is actually taught and used or was it a passing fad that SUP picked up from OC paddling when this video was filmed.

This old link to a post on the zone was interesting for those that might not have seen it.
