Makorori Beach..east coast of NZ. Mt Hikurangi up the road a bit the first to see the sun

Shhhhh! Everyone east of there, and west of the IDL (Tongans, Samoans and Kiribateans) were too hung over (kava and such) and still asleep to see the sun rise anyway! They dont count.

Were two more further along the beach.....did hear one of local surfers say he had never seen so many sups out at once :)
Not the first on the planet, but a sunrise for the first session of the year is always something special!
