G'day guys a quick question.

I have a boat trip booked and will be taking short boards and my SUP. I know the weight and length limits so that's easy. My question is what's the best way of taking your paddle. I have a padded bag for it but I'm concerned one hit to the shaft and I'm stuck with no paddle. I'm considering getting some 30mm PVC pipe and rippling down the length and then taping it to the shaft of my paddle inside the paddle bag.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Cheers Bender

There is a thread that discussed this and bspot68 had success with that method:

Paddle in bag on deck of board blade to nose elbow down. Pool noodle each side of paddle then bubble wrap all around board and paddle into the board bag. Been to Hawaii, Bali multiple times and Fiji no issues.
