Thanks guys , and DJ I did my first real down wind yesterday WOOO WHOOO! And can I tell you that you guys make it look a lot easier then it is We did 7 k's across redland bay in brissie in about 25 knots man it was fun I must have swam at least 20 times went over the handle bars maybe 5 or 6 times from burying the nose but caught my longest runner ever felt like at least 10 seconds what a buzz ps how hypnotising is watching the nose of your board chase the wave in front

go really fast, then stop, but only stop until you are almost good again, then paddle real fast then stop. Repeat until throwing up and you have an interval session you can work with :)

Seriously we have done everthing from bouy to bouy or setting your watch to give a beep every minute etc. Its an awesome way to get fitter and faster quickly and at your own pace.

Hi K. I have used Max (Shin Otake) workouts for coming up to two years. It is a home based interval training that uses minimal equipment (small weights, pull up bar), 30 minutes a day of HITT cycles through 90 day repeating cycles. Includes warm ups, cardio, and post workout stretches and rolling out large muscle groups. For the cardio days I use a recumbent exercise bike. There is an inexpensive Ebook version and an online subscription version. It has helped my paddling and overall level of fitness. I don't do the training on days that I am surfing as I found it a bit too much. Not sure if this is what you were looking for Or if it was a paddling interval training program? I have done the cardio cycles paddling using my IPad in a waterproof case as the timer. The timer program that I have loaded all the cycles into is an App called "Seconds".

cheers
