Here's a link to a thread on another forum I frequent.
It shows some stunning shots of a guy SUPing on Lake Tahoe in California.http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=781241
Great photos. I spent 2 weeks at Tahoe last year paddling every day. There is a booming SUP culture there and they have a great racing series as well, the last race of which is on today, The Fall Classic, 22 miles from south lake to the north shore.

Doesn't surprise me. There would be a big population of outdoor nuts there.
Jim S is a mad keen skier and SUP is a perfect off-season alternative for skiers.
He is a cool guy and he would welcome me and show me around. I always go there in winter though, to ski, so I might need a dry suit.
Awesome !!
Sometimes, California gets a bad name for itself.... But I believe it is truely an amazing place! Just get the hell out of LA, get off the beaten track!
Here's 10 places in California that are better than LA;
San Fran
Santa Cruz
Carmel
Monterey
Santa Barbara,
Ventura / Ventura County / Rincon
Lake Tahoe
Yosemite
Sierra Nevada's
Cardiff
Channel Islands (Sorry that's 11!)
Planning a trip to Lake Tahoe next year before I come back home to Aus. Such an insanely beautiful looking place. Those photos are definitely keepers, t
one would be straight up on my wall.
I would say do not forget to stop by in Vegas - technically not CA but close. One of the best places you can ever visit I reckon. Yes its cheesy - but its also insane! Lots of fun and not as expensive as one would think - especially if you get on a roll at black jack!
One of the best things I ever did was to wake up in LA one morning and get the hell out....was having breakfast with an english guy and his chick and they were headed to Vegas and they offered me a lift - well I did not have to be asked twice and we were on the road 10 mins later. 5 days of maddness. Can not wait to get back there...........
One of my best surf trips ever was LA to San Francisco. Got great waves in the San Luis Obispo area, Santa Barbara (the Spit) and heaps of places around Santa Cruz. Big Sur, Monterey and Carmel have to include some of the best scenery in the world. Just awesome.
