NAMOTU WORLD PADDLE CHALLENGE FIJI presented by AIR PACIFIC

The event will consist of a spectacular long distance downwinder and a dynamic elimination surf slalom at Namotu. There will also be a surfing exhibition event at Cloudbreak and a fun day of racing at Muskett Cove providing something for everyone and a spectacle across the board.
Prize-money for this event has been set at FIJ$25,000

Don't panic.
It's in a great spot. I checked it out 2 weeks ago when I was staying at Treasure Island. I took a 1/2 day boat ride to Sus out some resorts for future stays. Plantation Resort was one of them which is on the same stetch of beach as Musket Cove. I did'nt step off to check out but I got within 100 metres which was close enough to tell that it is a nice looking resort. Musket Cove is well protected from the SE trade winds when I was there (it gets bloody blowy).

Phew , i thought you where gunna say its crap.Thanks ive been stressing all dayI was imagining the wifey with a nut cracker in one hand and a stake knife in the otther.

Sorry to put you thru that.
You won't be disapointed.
You can see Namotu & Tavarua from the cove. I think Downwinder mentioned it's about 7k away. Take a walk down to Plantation if you get a chance - it's good also.
Tip: stock up on Fiji Bitter & water at Port Denaru where you get on the boat at. It will save you a few dollars.

cheers thanks for the tips , i stayed on the coral coast years ago Naviti resort they had free fiji bitter and food as much as you liked . Needless to say i come home 10kg,s heavier.

Hey DW the event sounds like its coming along big time especially with the write ups on the watermans league website. Hope it all goes well for the locals and becomes a definate yearly feature on the SUP calendar.
