Adam we were there this time last year, great spot with different levels of ability well catered for at Playgrounds, Lacerations and Shipwrecks. Hit up the Facebook Nusa Lembongan Traveller page for loads of info.

Awesome spot, Playgrounds is good for just about anyone but can get crowded, Lacerations is very hollow, fast and shallow but is a fantastic wave for more experienced, Shipwrecks picks up the most swell of the three and can be a great wave that hooks around and gets very speedy towards the end but it can get pretty aggro out there as it seems to draw the dicks. Haven't surfed Ceningan but have seen it a few times and others have said its a good fun wave when the others aren't getting much. Lembongan is also a great place to get away from the craziness that can be Bali/Kuta.

I was there a week ago, have been going for a few years. Every time more crowded and agro. Guides bringing boat loads of approx 15 surfers making instant crowd at Shipwrecks. Learners schools constantly out at Lacerations. Playgrounds packed with grommets. When swell small inconsistent set waves for the patient, but need to be careful not to hog them - please . Coral is beautiful to look at.

Safer on a prone board if you can. Just be super nauseatingly friendly, sit wide and let the good guys take what they want and let all the semi kooks all drop in on the first available wave during or after the set. You then usually have two to three empty set waves to choose from, if you can SUP surf you will have no further problems once they see you surfing the wave. That was a couple of months ago (pretty busy) at lots of different places in Bali. Times of day, tides and luck play a big part. WARNING. do not even accidentally swallow the ocean water and any scratches hit with heap as of antiseptic ASAP and frequently. If you're prone to surfer's ear be careful as the water can infect them really quickly if your unlucky. Enjoy the quiet times in the water.

I agree with Leroy. Once you demonstrate you can handle your board ( not waste it by falling off, be safe) and demonstrate knowledge and ethics of surfing you will be OK in these crowds. The problem with Shipwrecks is when it is a bit bigger there can often be only one take off peak. With 15 plus surfers heckling to get deeper inside it becomes dangerous. I prefer to paddle to Razors or No mans etc at that point.

they take learner schools out to lacerations? far out.
anything for a buck those balanese hey. big smile as they push you onto a bomb.

well hopefully get some waves somewhere on the SUP, if not guess hire a short board.
sounds like it will be very "trigg point" similar.

after SUP surfing empty waves at Gero on weekend i can always just drink beer n talk to the wife over there...
