Hey all
Since upgrading my board I'm beginning to think about upgrading my paddle.
I'm currently using a Starboard Tiki Tech Enduro two piece paddle and thinking about upgrading to a one piece paddle.
Looking through the forum Kenalu paddles seem to get a lot of love but it looks like supply is pretty much non existent in the UK,
options seems to be either Starboard or Quickblade.
I'm generally only in the water a couple of times a month, but they generally tend to be full days with 6-7 hours in the water.
First question would I notice any difference by going with the Starboard Enduro Carbon one piece?
Other thought was to spend a little more and make the move to the Starboard Enduro Pre-Peg? Would it be worth the extra spend? Assuming yes!
In terms of Quickblade is the V Drive 101 the most suitable (currently weighing in around 86kgs).
Next question would be how do the Starboard Enduro Pre-Peg and Quickblade V Drive fair head to head?
Sorry for stacking so many questions in one post - just doesn't seem to be a great deal written up on this.
Hi Chestersup,
Being a fellow sup surfer in the uk (Kernow-fornia!), I upgraded my paddle last year with a Black Project Sup paddle. I managed to get a discount on a one piece Surge paddle from the manufacturer in Hawaii. There is a uk distributor but it was cheaper/quicker getting it from Hawaii.
It's the best surf sup paddle I've had - it's improved my surfing, it also comes with a brilliant paddle bag. I appreciate they are pricey buy I managed one with a cosmetic flaw for a good discount. It could be another option to consider.
Yeah Black Project was something I'd spotted since posting this thread.
The Infinity Quick Strike looks interesting as well but very little seems to be written about it - looks like there is good availability of these as well but lacks a larger size.
I've used Locosurf (UK brand) fixed paddles for a couple of years, ok but one has started to split at the base of the blade. Just replaced with a QB UV Hex Flex 88. Not had in the water yet but looks promising. The Loco paddle is incredible stiff with little flex - it is what it is if your technique is not spot on you can feel it in the joints after a long session. I'm 6'2 85/90kg. Fixed paddle is what I use all the time, length - top of handle level with forehead. The QB was from The SUP Company UK.
Thanks Napnap much appreciated as always.

I would not rely on that too much. Measure your current paddle at the length that is comfortable for you. I've found that even 2 cm too long causes me shoulder pain on my low volume sup.
Those black project paddles do look very nice though. Tempted.
