With more practice he will be able to hit the surfer. I am pretty sure there are training videos on YouTube.
Didn't seem like he was going to make that section so not sure why he got so fussed up......

(also, it looked like it may have been planned)

It because of *assh*les like this that waves end up being unridden even in crowded conditions: get too inside to get priority, but not really ride the wave, at most just groveling along the whitewater yelling at everybody.
Of course, he could have been burned 10 times before this wave and acted in frustration, but... 2 wrongs don't make a right.
Plus, it should be quite easy for any surfer to pick up the paddle and throw it back in the impact zone...
It looked like he was trying to get the paddle over the top of the wave before wiping out.
Not from here it didn't, even if it was set up as suggested earlier, such a dumb thing to do.

No , SUPer gave his paddle to the surfer to be canned back
It was a setup by 2 shortboard surfers to get SUP banned at that spot . He did well to paddle in without much experience.
the sup could easily have made that section what with the sheer speed generated from a 28 inch wide board with fat rails 250ft back from the section and by the time they did their super whippy and fast bottom turn.
i surfed here - fun when they left but biggest bunch of f#$$ wits i ever surfed with in my life were out at same time unfortunately - delusional beyond comprehension
He was frustrated that he missed the section because of the person in the water that he had to avoid, then took out his frustration on the surfer.
The surfer may very well have dropped of the back of the wave if the SUP had made the section, that's pretty standard practice just about everywhere.
SUP...uncool.
