Ok Guys

Just setting up my new go pro. Board mounts on the deck, bar mount for the paddle & a GoPole Bobber for hand held 'selfies' on the short board.

I've been playing around with the settings, but was wondering how others take footage, both video and stills...am I better taking video the whole time and saving images from the video or for still images does the burst mode, say 30/1 fps keep taking stills until you you stop the camera ?

Some tips for the gopro rookie would be appreciated !

you can grab stills from the video but the quality won't be as good. The new gopro black has the feature to shoot stills and video at the same time though. Haven't done it yet but all the info is on the web.
i always try and shoot with the highest shutter speed so you can slow it down or get a frame grab.

try not to run it all the time, they'll get hot and then comes the fog. the more you shoot and dick around the more aware you get.

just get out there with it...
