This is not an install question... I have reviewed a lot of those and think I am good to go. However, any tips are also welcome.
I would actually like some aesthetics advice on what you all think would be a good application of tape. I have the RSPro Tatau tape and applying it to a Pau Hana Oahu board. shown here. if I install it at the proper place on the board, I would cover some of the lettering on the side of the board. If I move it forward a few inches it would be very close but shouldn't be a big deal.
The real question is should I cover the lettering with the tape? Obviously the lettering onmy board will be distorted with the textured RSPro tape.
I was THNKING about cutting a section of the textured tape out and applying a piece of clear rail tape to maintain the look of the board. I am leaning to cutting a section out and installing a piece of clear but any opinions here are welcome.
Thanks... but I have already purchased the RSPro... I may just apply it and cut it so I can apply some clear to maintain the look of the board.
I've put RSpro on my boards and I picked the almost clear for aesthetics. I guess the tape you've got over the lettering won't look so hot but that is the exact spot you'll most need it.
I'd be carefu cutting it as you'll then produce a forward facing edge on the mid rail. Might eventually release.
Good luck.
I wouldn't cut the RSPro and just cover the graphics on the board even if that means placing the rail tape a little high on the rail rather than centered.
I had to do that on my Maliko Jav like shown in this vid where I placed it right over the Naish logos.
Just put Jumbo Clear on my new Blue Planet.
Moved it up to fully cover the logos, pretty pleased with the results - no distortion, logos still clearly visible.
THANKS!
Appreciate all the comments.
DavidJohn, thanks for the vid and the post. I have been stalking a lot of your post... am jealous.
Nozza, perfect. That is what I was trying to envision.
I really liked the graphic on my tape and plan to move it a little forward so the graphics on the tape do not mess with the graphics on my board. I will post a pic once I am done.
I am totally over thinking this but I am a bit of an aesthetics nut... always have been. Have been driving the family nuts the last few days. hahaha.
I am new to this forum but love what I have seen so far...
