Hey crew,

So I booked a trip to Fiji in June, sorting the hire of boards from Walu, thanks Scotty88, hope you get a good deal for next visit!!, but apart from Namotu where are there other spots to get a wave?? I'm staying at Plantation so if there are spots out can you please let me know...

Or private message me to keep any secrets..

Thanks

No waves i could find around plantation apart from a short boat trip around Namotu , be wary about getting your boards to the island the ferry will either refuse to take them or charge you like a wounded bull. Getting boat trips from plantation to Namotu is also not cheap. But you could always paddle across if you where keen.

Why don't you take your own ? Walu only hire flatwater Sups.

Hi, if you can get to Namotu Island you will be able to surf Wilkes Passage and Swimming Pools. If you score Swimming Pools you will have the surf of a lifetime, awesome wave

Just in case you haven't seen my vid on Plantation, here it is (after Treasure Island and Castaway). We checked it out on a daily boat trip for future stays and fell in love with the joint. We'll be there next trip for sure along with my favourite -
Treasure island. Namotu has everything you need for surfing-there is nowhere else to surf anyway. Musket Cove is great for flatwater paddling.

Where's Downwinder ? He's the one to set you straight on Namotu.

Yep try Namotu Island with Wilkes Passage and Swimming Pools - the locals seem to be getting frustrated/angry on the crowded days but.

Hey Scotty - Walu have some Naish boards - the Mana 9"5 was reasonable for playing in some surf!

Cheers for that Mottman, I didn't know they stocked them. Lisa's on the ball now.

For those thinking of visiting Treasue Island be Warned....

The Island opposite, that appears in the video, and those name escapes me is inhabited by back packing Swedish and Dutch nyphettes who will steal your paddle and enforce slavery. I lost a friend there many years ago.Not a place for your wife to visit either as she may run off with a guy called Jurgen.

Also beware of the mosquitos that infest the treasure island mini golf course - they prey on whities like vultures

Yeah Treasure Island is a no-go. Travel agent said it is was infested with fleas....

And the joint near Treasure goes by the name of Beachcomber.... A backpackers surrounded by sand - Not Good.

I am staying at the Lomani Resort and thought about travelling with the SUP but if I can get a 9"5' Naish for me and a 10" something for the leader of the opposition I'll just take my paddle... I think I can get a SUP at Namotu if the planets align also.....

I'll keep you all posted on whatever I find....

Yeah this is a cool spot. I stayed there a few years back and would love to return. The reef out front looked promising.

Funny you should mention fleas on Treasure Island Cam. I do recall waking up during the night and scratching my belly. Nothing unusual about that except I noticed that when I scratched myself, my left leg, which was at bent knee, would move back and forth. This leg movement would only stop when I stopped scratching myself. Strange to say the least.

I just heard from a mate of mine that lives in Fiji that you can get out to Swimming Pools and Wilkes for about $50 fjd from Plantation Is.

Would be better to stay on Namotu if you can stretch it, no go for us as we will be traveling with a couple of families with a lot of kids under 10.

Sweet. Yeah could not get Namotu across the line, we've got other friends with us that don't SUP, yet!!

That's good to know about the boat trip but, cheers mate.
