I've just acquired a SUP and am enjoying learning to surf. I'm based in Launceston, northern Tasmania. I've been heading to the north coast with a couple of mates - one newbie on a foam board and one a longtime shortboard surfer - but I'd be keen to meet up with some other SUPers. Is there anyone else in the area looking for an occasional surfing companion?

I reckon that pretty soon 2MT and Riverider as well as Tassiesup will be in touch.

Sounds good! It did seem a bit arse about to be buying a SUP as we head into winter (and booties and hood are definitely the go) the water is still over 14 degrees and the air temp is a couple of degrees higher. Those numbers might not sound great to a Queenslander but it's fine for being in the water for an hour or two

hi Tassiejohn, check out facebook for the "north west tasmania SUP club" they have just formed a club up you way and would be keen as to have you join them.
TassieSUP also have a facebook page if you want to keep up with the important stuff 
take no notice of ET, he is just a show off, always letting everyone how good he is because he owns a pairs of booties, even wears them when paddling round noosa

Thanks E T and Nwsuppie. I’ll definitely try and get down to check out the TassieSUP Winter Classic, but it can tricky to fit that sort of thing in around family responsibilities…
I did see there was a North West Tasmania SUP Club, but they’re a bit out of the way for me and didn’t seem so surf orientated. I’ll like them both on FB and keep an eye on what’s going on. Thanks Luke, I’ll send you a message.
