Stu, inspirational stuff.
I see you actually paddled further than total distance falling off the rhumb line or was that the current? Do they allow you to use a gps on your board or support vessel to assist with navigation to assist staying on the track line?
I am sure a lot of local nth beaches paddlers would be interested in hearing your story first hand, and seeing some pics if you have them. Cheers

lol what a image, Sup Hard starring ole Bruce on Sup with a gun, 17.4,good one.

The no frills was a nice angle, wanted to keep it that raw, thank you.

The north line is traditional and is a safer line to get home many times. There is much discussion pre-race about the best line.

I wish last year I went rhumb line in hind sight. It was the winning line. I followed the direction from my boat captain.

This year it would be nice to go closer to the Rhumb.

And yes absolutely you can rig up a gps on ur board.

Thats a cool idea to have a Talk Story night, thank you for the suggestion.

Cheers Stuart

Great story & challange. I would love to be fit enough one day to take it on. It seems you made alot of sacrifices & fought hard just to get there. It also says alot about the head space you must have to be in to be able to push yourself in hard physical times.
Look forward to your next adventure
