I'm back in the water again, and I am a bit sensitive to glare after the ops.

I tried the sunnies option, and they do work, but only to a degree, even with a very open pair and something to make the water run away, they're still not perfect.

one of the members, foamball, suggested I try a hat to cut down the glare so I got a peaked cap that would flick up and down reasonably well, to help me see while I paddled, and had a go with it. The first time i used it, it was in overcast conditions and I hated it so I stuffed it down my wetty. I used it again for around 1.5 hours this arvo in sunny conditions and it was much better so I think I'll stick with it for a while.

I look like a complete nob head in a hat, but that's not unusual for me, even at the best of times.

Funny story about me buying it on Boxing day, it's an FCS and I got it from Dripping Wet down at Manly, so there I was, forking out the dough to Andrew when he looks to my left and says to some interloper "yeah okay, I'll be with you in just a sec". I thought, 'How rude that someone would interrupt my immensely important $29.50 transaction' so I looked to my left to eyeball this usurper , and possibly even "shirtfront" him and I noticed it was our fearless leader himself, Tony Abbot.

LOL hilarious that bit about Abbot.

I love my all round brim hat or whatever you call it. I wear it all year round, keeps your noggin warm in winter & reduces glare/sunburn in summer.

Tried those blackhawk ebay sunnies today for the first time. Went out at like 0930 WA side of Oz with the sun behind me while waiting for a wave. They were a little dark for that time of day, think they'd be awesome if it was like 1600-1800. But that's generally work or beer drinking time for me. They were awesome when I came in & had to take a good look at the topless babe on the beach without appearing to obvious

G'day overboard, they are UV compliant, not too sure about polarized. The only thing on them is "Crews Taiwan"...I got 'em where I was working...free I worked outside, part of what we had to wear.
Hope that helps.....
