Hi guys,

My funboard for any conditions, Bing Dharma 5"8 is due for a replacement, with so many repairs and cracks I don't feel like it'll outlast this summer.

I would totally opt for a new one, but with the exchange rates been what they are it's one expensive short board.

my question is, what is a locally made equivalent? Anyone had any experience in comparisons with the Dharma?
cheers

Helps if you say where you are - I started writing then realised it may be completely irrelevant if you aren't in WA.

It's a min-Simmons design more than a fish. Look for a mini-Simmons that has quads and a rolled nose and a heavy single concave.

Shaped this 5'11" recently. Similar-ish.

Sorry the pic is sideways but you get the idea.

I've got a 5'6 dharma. Had it sent from the us and boy did I get hit with duty and customs. I'd say $400 just for that not including the. Cost of the board or frieght. Ouch
but it's easily one of my best boards. Just goes in anything.
I've got a mcneill CV2 which is pretty similar. Rear fins aren't as close to rail though which is what makes the dharma so good.
But id just keep N eye for either a good condition used dharma or contact Bing Australia. He's on Facebook. They now ship them in with out having to pay duties etc. just gst. They're worth every penny.
