Buzzy's paid to surf and endorse those kook boards. He'd ride a coffee table at Sunset if Harvey Norman threw a few grand his way.
Until a pro starts winning reputable comps on these things, please stop claiming that they surf like a short board.
Actually Buzzy isn't paid or endorsed at all to ride Jimmy's boards...No one said they were for pro's to surf contests on.... They're just a great all-round board that does surf amazingly well... I ride performance shortboards as well & the Destroyer surfs just as well off the tail as any shortboard.... Spend some time in Hawaii & you'll see how popular they are....From novice to expert surfer... Don't knock it until you try it...
I've spent plenty of time in hawaii mate and the most popular board over there is the Costco wavestorm.
Kook Boards.
Jimmy you didn't say Buzzy's favourite, you said Hawaii's favourite. Just rethink your marketing and don't try to oversell. Say "it's an overvolumed pop-out for old and/or fat blokes". I've come to that realisation myself and upsized. Just call it like it is. It's not a shortboard and that's obvious but there's still a market ... if you don't try to bull****.
Hi Legion,
I spend over 1 month in Hawaii in July every year & everywhere you go from Oahu to Maui to Kauai you see people riding the JL Destroyer....As I said "it's a great fun shape for beginner's to advanced riders"....I ride the 6'0 Destroyer when the conditions dictate & it does perform especially off the tail (I still ride a performance 5'10 Channel Islands shortboard as my shortboard & weigh 80kg & surf everyday)
Sorry no Bull**** here...
So is that $1100. WOW! I've decided to support a local bloke with a similar but nicer custom (beauty is in the eye) board for way less. I was looking at a modern love child but read it was a gamble on quality. Yeah I know they're all copies of something else.
And yeah I'm no hero, best days behind me, pride gone, etc.... but still love a good wave!
There's a mid length thread in the long board room that might be more apt for your midi than the here.
Hey jimmy lewis boards, you should be in politics because your salesmanship is **e. Obviously your only out for yourself and will spin any old crap to make a sale. Have you got a t-shirt that says you've been to Hawaii ....
