I'm keen to have a go at shaping a few boards this year and first step gonna need some shaping stands. Anyone got a set lying around not getting used? Or anyone made up a simple set that they wouldn't mind posting a few pics?

Cheers guys

these are "reasonably" simple to make.

Thanks p co,

It looks like a project even I can manage, do you think there's any advantage over 2 piece stands, ie the cement bucket base or the single unit like you've posted above?

Cheers

Much more stable as one piece. Certainly doable as two stands but make your bases as wide as possible as they can tip over easily with the forces and leverage that's applied. Two stands is great for varying the distance apart for different sized boards.

Pinched this plan from pinterest -works well - also have a one piece stand which works well but prefer the 2 piece - can shorten or lengthen for different length boards

Found a pretty simple plan on greenlightsurfsupply.com and gave it a go. Came in under 50 bucks so pretty stoked... just need to suss out the best foam pads to use now.

Foam mattress material is sounding like the go! Cheers for the replies boys
