Isnt it rather shallow in there? We used to race skiffs in there a few years ago and it was pretty touch and go.

The Bouvard yacht club is about 1.5km Nth of that particular launch point.
You can launch from the Yacht club but you have to wade out a fair way and aviod the "Commodores" Reef.
Plenty of deep water in the Mandurakastani Estuary
