Hi guys,
I need some advice for my jp hydrofoil 133.
i would like to use it for ultralight wind foiling with a 7,2 sail. I have a slingshot g900 with a 82 phantasm carbon mast and have bought a long fuse and a jack plate. Does this work well?
I am considering to buy a neilpryde foil, but the neilpryde flight fr doesn't come with a carbon mast.
Is it advisable to mix board and foil brands and if, what works good with the jp hydrofoil?
thanks a lot

Mixing foil brands and boards is not as much of an issue any more so I wouldn't worry about that. First I would try out what you have and see how you go. Although the freeride wings tend to go better with smaller wave/freestyle sails than bigger race sails, the G900 doesn't look so big that it wouldn't work. 82cm mast is a tad short for windfoil but should be fine if your water is flatish.

Aluminium masts are just a big heavier carrying your gear to the beach but they are nice and stiff, and don't really limit riding IMO

Ultra light foiling with 7,2 sail ok but what is your weight?

My biggest sail is 7,2 NP speedster sail
Starboard race foil carbon 2020
115 black fuselage
1000 millenium fw
255 backwing

Am 68kg and pump up on foil in 8 / 9 knots easely and keep flying in less wind.

I can also do it with the 800 IQ foil frontwing but cant stay flying in winddips like i can with the 1000 wing.

My board is a future fly 145 foilboard 85cm width.

Yes, caught my eye straight away. Especially jibing in any swell, that short of a mast will get you. Agree with not worrying about mixing brands especially in the race/freerace arena as most foils/boards work in about the same range. You can use shims to fine tune things (or get a bit of extra "lift" at the low end)

The millenium is a very nice lightwind freerace wing but hard to come by these days. The IQ 900 gives up about a knot or two at the bottom end but they can be found used more easily. Also look at the freerace stuff from Zeeko and the brands they OEM for such as Simmer and Patrik.

Thanks for the answers!
i will go for a free race foil with 800-1000cm2 front wing.
if it is possible to use a foil from starboard or Patrik with my jp board, it makes things a lot easier...
Has anyone ever tried a phantasm mast with the jack plate deep tuttle adapter?

Not me but people have done so. I don't know many who use it long term though. You could pick up a PTM 799 but at this point I would look for a used race foil eg F4 or IQ. Versus sinking money into a system that is suboptimal for your goals. Also I think your phantasm 82 mast is the wing version not the stiffer windfoil version
